Mischa Buford Epps is the Executive Director of The Missouri Bar, where she leads strategic initiatives to support the legal profession, promote access to justice, and foster member engagement across a diverse legal community. Under her leadership, the 31,500-member statewide organization has expanded its continuing legal education offerings, launched innovative well-being and diversity initiatives, and strengthened its role as a trusted resource for both the legal profession and the public.
A passionate advocate for the legal community, Mischa regularly collaborates with bar leaders across the country to share best practices and tackle the challenges of the evolving legal profession. She serves on the ABA Committee on Bar Leadership, the Missouri Supreme Court’s Commission Combatting Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence and the Court’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness and is active with multiple legal and community organizations.
Prior to serving at The Missouri Bar, Mischa was a partner of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP where she practiced for more than 20 years representing businesses in corporate transactions and counseling nonprofit clients on tax and governance issues. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
