On March 10, 2025, Susan E. Bindler was appointed as the sixth Clerk of Court for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Susan filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Michael E. Gans.
Susan is a native of St. Louis. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University in public policy studies and her Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law. Susan graduated Order of the Coif and received a number of academic awards during law school. She also served as a Primary Notes and Comments Editor for the Washington University Law Quarterly and was twice published in the Law Quarterly.
