Barbara Smith Tyson is a seasoned trial and appellate litigator and co-leader of BCLP’s Appellate and Supreme Court group—one of only a few women in the country to hold such a role. Barbara represents a wide range of clients—from Fortune 500 companies and foreign sovereigns to politicians and boards of directors—guiding them through complex, high-stakes litigation with a focus on early and decisive victories. Barbara has argued and won cases at every level of the state and federal courts. Her deep experience and strategic approach make her a trusted advocate in even the most challenging litigation. Before joining the firm, Barbara clerked for Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the Supreme Court of the United States and Judge Thomas B. Griffith on the D.C. Circuit. She is a member of the federal practice committee for the E.D. Mo. Barbara earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School and serves as President of the St. Louis Chapter of the Federalist Society.
