                                                    John Bodenhausen was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge on April 16, 2015. Prior to his appointment, Judge Bodenhausen was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Missouri for thirteen years, focusing on white collar criminal prosecutions. As an AUSA, Judge Bodenhausen served as the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Crimes Coordinator and District Election Officer for the Eastern District of Missouri. Judge Bodenhausen started his legal career as a clerk for the Honorable David R. Hansen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. After completing his clerkship, Judge Bodenhausen practiced patent law with the St. Louis firm of Senniger Powers. Prior to practicing law, Judge Bodenhausen worked for more than ten years as an electrical engineer on combat aircraft programs at McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics. Judge Bodenhausen attended law school as part of the evening division at Saint Louis University, graduating in 1998. Judge Bodenhausen received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1985 from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1992 from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. In addition to his regular duties, Judge Bodenhausen presides over the Veterans Reentry Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. As the son and son-in-law of career military men, he has a special interest in matters concerning veterans.
