Royal Garrett commenced a five-year term of supervised release in August 2020. In November 2020, Mr. Garrett entered the District of Minnesota’s Reentry Court program with the Honorable Donovan W. Frank. While participating in the program, Mr. Garrett maintained a positive attitude and worked hard to accomplish goals he established while in the program. Specifically, while participating in Reentry Court, Mr. Garrett obtained full time employment and began pursuing school for his commercial driver’s license which he would go on to obtain. Further, Mr. Garrett began involvement in events and organizations to end community violence. Mr. Garrett also established a strong bond with his mentor while in the program which he maintains to this day. Mr. Garrett routinely showed learned leadership skills through his actions and encouraging words for other participants, and he graduated the program in January 2022. Mr. Garrett was granted early termination from supervised release in December 2022.
