Dr. Gina Ligon is an industrial and organizational psychologist with proven terrorism expertise in service to federal, state, and local governments. She leads the Nation's largest academic counterterrorism center, headquartered at University of Nebraska at Omaha and named, “The National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education” (NCITE). Recidivism reduction is one of the central areas of focus for NCITE, with a specific focus on preventing ideologically motivated violence from formerly incarcerated extremists. She most recently led expert working groups with senior White House and DHS officials to inform the administration’s domestic terrorism policy. Ligon has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles related to violent extremist organizations, leadership, and collaboration.
