Katherian Roe is the Federal Defender for the District of Minnesota. She has been the Defender since 2006. Prior to that she served as a Minnesota state court judge, an Assistant Federal Defender, a Georgetown Law School Prettyman/Stiller Fellow and an Indian Legal Services attorney. Ms. Roe has practiced before federal, state and tribal courts. She is a Fellow and former State Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers. She also serves on the MSBA Certification Board for Criminal Law Specialists and is board certified. Ms. Roe is a graduate of Georgetown Law School (LL.M Trial Advocacy), Albany Law School (J.D.) and the State University of New York, Albany (B.A.).
