Hank Shea is a Senior Distinguished Fellow at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis and a Professor of Practice at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Hank has taught courses in restorative justice, investigations, white collar crime, and crime and punishment. He also speaks frequently throughout the United States on ethics and how to best prevent and address white collar crime.
Mr. Shea served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota for 20 years, where he prosecuted a wide range of corporate and other economic crimes. During his tenure, the U.S. Attorney’s office collected more than $50 million in restitution, fines, and forfeitures from crimes that he prosecuted.
Mr. Shea is the recipient of numerous Department of Justice awards, including Director’s Awards for Superior Performance in 2002 and 2000. In 2007, Hank received the Minnesota State Bar Association Professional Excellence Award for outstanding efforts to advance the legal profession and the administration of justice.
Mr. Shea is an Army veteran. He served four years of active duty and seven years of reserve duty in the Army’s Office of General Counsel in the Pentagon. Hank currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of the Veterans Defense Project, which restores veterans involved in the criminal justice system to the communities they served.
