L. Ashley Wieck is the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the Southern District of Iowa and District of South Dakota. Prior to transitioning to that role in May 2022, Ms. Wieck served as a United States Trustee Program Trial Attorney for seven years, handling and litigating matters with a focus on Chapter 11 administration, civil enforcement, and trustee oversight. Ms. Wieck received her law degree from Drake University in 2007. Upon graduation she worked at a general practice firm in her home state of Illinois until 2009 when she relocated back to Iowa after garnering an affection for Des Moines. From 2009 to 2015, Ms. Wieck worked at an Iowa bankruptcy firm representing the second highest case filings in the state, where she split her practice between representing chapter 7 and 13 debtors and consumer protection matters. As a USTP AUSA and Trial Attorney, Ms. Wieck has served on several working groups, and she frequently speaks on bankruptcy topics at conferences and seminars.
