Brian C. Buescher was confirmed as Judge on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska on July 24, 2019. Judge Buescher is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Editor in Chief of The Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and Vice President of the Georgetown University Student Bar Association. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated Chancellor’s Scholar with honors and high distinction, and was elected President of the Society of Innocents, the Chancellor’s Senior Honorary. Prior to his judgeship, Judge Buescher worked nineteen years at the national law firm of Kutak Rock LLP, where he was chair of the national agribusiness litigation group. Judge Buescher was a candidate for Nebraska Attorney General in 2014. Judge Buescher serves as representative of the Eighth Circuit on the Judicial Conference Committee on Information Technology, and as the IT Committee representative on the Information Technology Security Awareness Working Group. He also serves on the federal clerkship OSCAR Working Group. Judge Buescher is an adjunct professor of law at Creighton University School of Law, teaching Federal Practice and Agricultural Law. Judge Buescher resides in Omaha with his wife Elaine and their five children, Alexander, Elizabeth, Catherine, Anna, and Nicholas.
